Hey! Today is Hannah's one month old birthday. I can't believe it's been a month already! It's gone by so fast! She has grown so much just in the space of the month. She now weighs about 9 pound 7. She was only 7 when she was born. We love her so much. Sometimes I can't believe I have a daughter. She's a little person that came out of me. She looks like a little doll. lol. She already has her own personality and different cries for different needs. The funniest one is for when she's hungry. I have recordings I might post on my site. I'll let you know. It's so wonderful having her. All the sleeplesness is so worth it! I don't mind changing her dirty diapers or cleaning up after her sick. It's wierd but I really don't mind at all. Here's a hint, change the baby before eating. Hannah doesn't like being changed and works herself up and spits up more if she's been fed previous to changing. Giving her baths is also fun. Taking care of her is a lot of work, but is fun work if you know what I| mean. She's still a queen burper! lol She's eating about 6 ounces per feed now about every 3 hours. I've taken to writing down in a microsoft word document every time she's changed, what was in the diaper, when she was fed, and how much she ate. It's very helpful to keep track and is good for spotting any irregularities. It's all learn as you go. Guess that's all for now.
Laters from Lizzy, James, and Hannah
awsome.
happy birthday hannah
As Iternity says, "Happy birthday Hannah" and congrats to the new-born parents. Sounds like you are being trained very well.
You said, "I don't mind changing her dirty diapers or cleaning up after her sick." that makes me laugh. Before I was a new dad long long ago, that was a constant worry of mine. Could I handle it? What if it made me sick? etc. etc. But, when the day comes I think nature gives you an extra strong stomach for your own. At least, I found it didn't bother me in the least, and I used to laugh at my squeamish friends.
Good idea that about the log. It will be great to look back on in later years.

p.s. Keep us updated, please.
Aww, cute baby! I'm glad you're enjoying her as much as you are. Keep us posted about all those fun milestones she'll be encountering soon!
Yeah, keep us all posted. I think I'm creating a topic for my new cousin when he/she arrives in a couple of months time (baby's due Easter Monday, so keep an eye out on the Parent board. I really do think it's a "he" from the way the baby's carrying. The bump's quite low on my Aunt's hips and it isn't really sticking out to the front. Happy Birthday baby Hannah anyway.
Happy birthday Hannah! and congradulations James and Lizzy.
Aw, always ready to read pages and pages about adorable babies. That's a good suggestion about taking care to change prior to a feed to avoid stress spit-up. Thanks much. That might come in very handy. Wow, the diapering and feeding log. That sounds like a phonominal idea. Unfortunately it sounds like an idea that might not be very practicle for me to keep up with between caring for my child, my three cats, my fiance, my mother and my guide dog; not in that exact order of priority of course. And, obviously none of them need as much from me as the baby, but still we have a very busy household. I'm just curious as I need some input here, but, how do you bathe her that young with out an infant tub? I know you're not allowed to use even an infant tub until the imbillical chord falls off and that that can take two weeks to a month. I assume that sponge baths are the thing, but what advice could you give for making it a quick, painless and minimally messy process? I think I can easily handle the infant, baby and toddler tubs, but the details and techniques of a sponge bath escape me. Oh, I love that by the way, "New born parents." It's so apt. Give Hanna lots of hugs from our family.
